With shopping habits constantly evolving with the technological developments, the iPad app has been designed to fill the needs of the tech-saavy, on-the-go consumer who is now used to being able to shop where and when they want as well as further expanding Debenhams’ multi-channel offering.
The launch is well timed considering Debenhams.com saw iPad visits overtake iPhone for the first time in August, demonstrating a clear demand for extending Debenhams’ mobile offering onto the popular tablet device.
The iPad app means customers can shop the full Debenhams range – available at their fingertips 24/7.
Its additional functionality means it stands apart from the mobile apps, with consumers now able to shop via product category and brand along with a range of inspirational content, trend highlights and style advice across all departments.
Featuring the latest trend look books, regularly updated Top 10 items as selected by our fashion editor and customers, along with expert style advice and the latest videos from Debenhams TV, the iPad app offers users inspirational and editorial guides before they make a purchase.

In the last month alone, traffic to Debenhams.com from iPads was more than double that of the iPhone. As shopping on the move becomes ever more popular and common place and we needed to ensure we were keeping up with their shopping habits.”
The hero feature of the iPad app, however is the unique gift finder – which can solve any difficult Christmas present conundrums. With a lucky dip gift finder, users are presented with gift suggestions for all the family across all departments – meaning there is no excuse for last minute panic buying!
As well as receiving alerts on the latest trends, special offers and products – iPad users can also keep up to date with automatic feeds from the Debenhams Blog and Twitter as well as ensuring they get what they want from Santa this year by creating wish lists and sharing with friends on Facebook or email.
The innovative new features also mean that for the first time, favourite products shared with friends will also open automatically within the iPad app if their friend has also downloaded their own version – an industry first.
The images displayed are also quality bandwidth dependant with a system in place to adaptively load images depending on the users connection speed to ensure a snappier user experience and no more waiting patiently for them to load up!
