Gardener’s Calendar is a massively popular area of the BBC website with personalisation and customised content. Do Tank Studios developed the Gardener’s Calendar desktop widget to extend the site and make it easier for people to engage with website’s content.

Simply put, the BBC Gardener’s Calendar desktop widget displays personalised gardening tips and reminders straight to your computer. It does this by using details users provide about their gardens so that all information is relevant and targeted, reminding users when to trim the roses or plant bulbs or get ready for the next season.

Shortly after the desktop widget went live, we created a fully functioning mobile widget version of the Gardener’s Calendar with similar functionality as a proof of concept.
