G-Phone to hit UK in November
Google’s long-awaited and semi-mythical Android phone is set for a US launch later today. Google’s notorious secretiveness has fuelled wild rumours about it’s specs but it’s reliably believed to have GPS, and a handy pull-out QWERTY keyboard. With tilt sensors and touchscreen, the G1 phone will support third-party applications so expect a flurry of iPhone-a-like apps with the bonus of being integrated into Google’s suite of webapps so, if you lose it, all your info is stored in the cloud and retrievable.
T-Mobile’s site for the G1 has a very little information but promises more after the launch at a press conference later today. Allegedly set for a UK release in November and priced around the same as a standard 8GB iPhone, it just might be able to take on the mighty Apple in run up to Christmas.
This video runs you through the various features of Google’s Android on the T-Mobile G1.
